Of course all of this free stuff comes at a cost - your privacy. Zango is actually a spyware program that is supported by adware that displays pop-up/pop-under advertisements to the user based on their internet surfing habits. In other words, Zango tracks everything you do online and sends you advertising that matches your interests.

It is possible to have Zango installed on your computer without you knowing what you are getting.

How Do I Know If I Have Zango Installed?
You'll notice the following toolbar in your browser if Zango is installed on your computer.

How Do I Remove Zango?
1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel
2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs
3) Find "Zango" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove
to uninstall it. There may also be a program called Media Gateway, remove it as well.
You'll be presented with the following screen during the uninstall process, you'll want to check either the Zango toolbar or Search Assistant, or both before clicking Next to complete the uninstall.
4) Reboot your Computer
6) Zango should now be completely uninstalled from your computer.
7) If for any reason, Zango did not completely uninstall,
click on the following link to download and run the uninstaller.

If you decide later you want to play the games or watch the videos
on Zango's site, you'll have to reinstall their software.
How to Remove Zango ?
You can uninstall the program by going to Start > Settings > Control Panel,
click Add/Remove Programs. From the list select Zango Search Tool
or something like that , click Remove or Change to uninstall it.
How do I uninstall Zango Search Assistant and Zango products?
Zango Search Assistant can be easily and completely uninstalled by choosing
"Add or Remove Programs" from your Control Panel. Select “Zango Search Assistant”
and follow the onscreen prompts to completely remove the application.
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Go to Start Menu
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select Add or Remove Programs
4. Click on Zango Search Assistant
5. Select Change/Remove
6. Follow onscreen prompts to completely remove the application
If the uninstall process was not successful, try the following alternative method.
Open: http://www.zango.com/Uninstall/ZUninstaller.exe Click Run. A box should appear that says "ZUninstaller successful".
With these instructions, you should have been able to uninstall Zango.
